National Service Grant

For the past several years, the National Order of the Arrow Committee has provided matching service grants for a limited number of projects submitted by application to the national OA office. A total of $35,000 was made available for distribution for projects in 2007. The evaluators considered the innovative scope and design of the project, how the project impacts a significant number of Scouts, and how the project enhances Cub Scouting or Boy Scouting in the council. Service Grant petition forms are available for download here.

Congratuations to the two Western Region lodges of 10 total lodges nationally that have been selected as service grant recipients for 2007:

  • Tahosa Lodge, Denver Area Council 61, received $5000 to retrofit the Creede Campsite at Peaceful Valley Scout Ranch to be accessible to persons with disabilities.
  • Wal-La-Moot-Kin Lodge, Blue Mountain Council 604, received $5000 to restore camp property so that it can be used for camping and high adventure.

The National Order of the Arrow Committee expresses its appreciation to the more than 45 lodges who applied for the 2006 service grants.
