Web Coordinator / Mustang Editor Application
The Western Region is looking for members for our Communications Youth Committee!
We are accepting applications for Web Coordinator (formerly known as Webmaster) as well as Mustang Newsletter Editor. In either position you will have the exciting opportunity of providing the entire region with news about Order, your news and information will be reaching the OA members in over a third of the country! Due to the fantastic work from those who held these positions in the past, the work for both has been very streamlined over the years, so the jobs are now very fun and exciting. This is about the easiest way to be part of our region's great group of staff, so apply today if you have the necessary skills that we need to continue making both our website and newsletter the best in the OA.
Web Coordinator is the person who will be managing our website. Our website uses PHP code, however most of our more advanced programming has already been done during the last 2 years. We have great advisers who can guide you in creating the best structured content, and even give a helping hand with some of the programming if needed. The site has an automated system in order to post the news on our front page that has been built from the ground up, and also the RSS feed for the site will be automatically updated. There is times when we require new pages added, but we will be here to help and also gear you towards becoming one of the most skilled website developers. Mustang Editor is the person who creates and releases our great Mustang newsletter. You will be given the opportunity to develop articles on the news that comes up within both our region and the national OA. As we previously said, this position will also have great advisers who can guide you in creating the best structured content, and also the position can help you develop a very professional-looking layout which will be a great help when working outside of the OA. As you see from reading our newsletter, the design of the newsletter remains about the same each issue, so really the majority of your job will be gathering the content to fill each issue. It is a fun position and will allow you to work with some of our great region staff. When applying for Mustang Editor, be sure to include examples of any of your past experience in similar positions, or examples of your layout and/or writing skills.
