E. Urner Goodman Camping Award

The E. Urner Goodman Award was established in 1969 as a tribute and testimonial to the Order of the Arrow's founder E. Urner Goodman. Its purpose is to encourage and challenge Order of the Arrow members and lodges to increase their effectiveness in promoting and increasing Scout camping in each council. Awards are presented to two outstanding lodges in each region annually. You can read the full list of the 2015 award recipients on the national Order of the Arrow website.

As we enter the next century of the Order of the Arrow, the award requirements have been updated to place an increased emphasis on quality as well as the material and manpower support that each lodge contributes to their council program.

If you would like to apply for the E. Urner Camping Award, the petition is available on the OA National website.

Wauna La-Montay Lodge will be hosting one of the largest OA Service Projects that Cascade pacific Council has ever promoted: ArrowCorps 2016. Spanning multiple Ranger Districts in two National Forest, projects will be varied, challenging, and satisfying. The projects include trail maintenance, fence construction, orphan campsite maintenance, and projects at Ranger Stations. An enrichment program, enhanced by the natural classroom environment, will be a part of the week long experience so you can learn many new skills while you give meaningful, visible, and long lasting service to the mt. Hood and Willamette national Forests. The event commences on August 14th, 2016 and will conclude on August 19th. Participants will be placed in different work crews, assigned specific projects, and over several days give cheerful service with logistical support from the ArrowCorps staff. On the 19th we will enjoy a day of fun at mt. Hood Ski Bowl, playing mini golf, using an Alpine Slide, and exploring the Terrain Park on two wheels.

ArrowCorps is open to any member of the Boy Scouts of America ages 14 and older. Membership in the Order of the Arrow is not a requirement to participate.

I am working on getting pictures of previous ArrowCorps and should be able to email them to you in the coming days.
